Yesterday was a great day! I was at the beach with my family. My parents were very happy. We were all tired after a long day of playing in the sand. It was sunny all day, which wasn't a surprise for a summer day. You were also at the beach, right?
How it Works: Past Tense
The past tense of "to be" is used for actions or states that happened in the past.

Use WAS with the subjects I, He, She, It.
Example: "I was at home." -
Use WERE with the subjects You, We, They.
Example: "They were happy."
